Public Service Announcement

Hi Grace here. So today Mum and I went to a mall and I saw a cool blue car. Mum put me in it and I had a play. The photos below are of this part. I was pretty happy at that point. Then the horror started. Guys you gotta know that when your mum says "do you want me to make it go?" you need to say no!! My Mum stuck some money in and the whole car came alive!! Naturally I screamed. I tried getting out but Mum said it would be fun. So I made her cuddle me while the ride went on. People kept looking at us, me crying, Mum half in the car cuddling me, making car noises trying to pretend we were having fun while the car moved and shook. So consider this a heads up. Watch out for the blue car at Botany Town Centre!! That thing is evil!!

Baby Fedora - OMG!!!

Why kids shouldn't have pens.

Before we had Grace, we bought two new, slightly expensive, leather couches. In a moment of rare but wonderful foresight, I bought couch insurance to be able to get the leather repaired if it was damaged. So three years on, Grace aquired* a ball-point pen and decided to decorate one of the couches.....needless to say, her mother was slightly annoyed. But it can be fixed!!! Yay for couch insurance!! It will take two hours to repair so I have told Grace she has to watch the person fix the couch so she understands the consequences of her actions. I'm not entirely sure she took me seriously. *definition of aquired: given a pen to entertain herself drawing on some paper. Turns out paper is boring and couches are super interesting.

Do you want to build a snowman?

That's all you need to say and then a huge smile breaks out on her face. My girl loves the "Frozen" movie. She smiles and giggles and sings.

Grace, Granny and Grandpa

Grace is lucky to have a Granny and Grandpa who live very close. She gets to see them most weeks and I love that she gets the chance to enjoy these wonderful people who raised me and enjoy their kindness, their spirit, their skills and their love. Today Grace got to play with Granny's piano and clearly the family music gene is coming through! You don't know how lucky you are Gracie to be so loved!

Frog and Duck

Grace's favourite word is duck. Every bird she sees is a duck. She is learning new words every day and sometimes to get comfortable saying a word, she'll add duck to the end of the word. Lately she has been practicing saying "frog". And she has been combining it with duck. And the combination sounds exactly as you think it would.

My baby is now walking unsupported! Well done Grace.  We are immensely proud of you and your determination!!

So today I went to a museum...

And it was stoopid. On the drive there Dad and Mum kept mentioning how pretty the scenery was. They seem to forget that the view is terrible from my car seat. When we got there we had a snack. I told everyone in the cafe what we were eating but for some reason Mum told me to "shhhh". So I threw my raisins on the ground. It's amazing how far you can throw raisins. Mine got two tables over. For some reason Mum didn't congratulate me on my throwing arm. We then looked around the museum. I got a bit scared at some of the stuff but enjoyed the chance to hold Dad's hand while I walked around. Dad kept wanting to stop and take photos, which meant dropping my hand. Well I wasn't going to have any of that. Fortunately I have learnt how to stamp my feet and cause I was wearing my squeaky shoes, it was even more effective. Then Mum (aka Chief Spoil Sport) took the squeaker out of the shoes!! OMG!!! Eventually Mum and Dad realised I run this family and decided to li...

Shortly after this photo was taken...

....the museli bar was thrown into Huka Falls. Then someone was pretty amazed (and a bit angry) that I didn't dive into the water to retrieve it for her. Sigh. I'm a constant disappointment to her....

Travelling with children.....

Only works if there is ice cream along the way....
Grace is concerned that we are going to seriously impact her street cred by making her wear this hat on our holiday to Taupo.

The result of shopping with Dadda....
