Cats vs Dogs

So I'm not a dog person, but when the man you love has a dog, you have a dog. In saying that, I gotta give Flynn credit, he is so sweet, so gentle, so patient with Grace plus doesn't chase my cats. He is a lovely addition to our family, and if we could fix the shedding and doggy smell I might become a dog person. Maybe. #cats forever

Scallywags

Day two of long weekend and we have been busy! Yesterday we went bowling and today was a third birthday party where we got to dress as pirates!! We also bought Chad's wedding suit but no pictures of that until the big day!! Our bowling outing was a rematch of a competition started a few weekends ago. We met up with Chad's brother and his kids and bowled up a storm. I had to do an emergency run to MacDonald's for a smoothie and apple slices as Gracie got a bit "hangry". Silly unorganised mum forgot to bring along healthy snacks #don'tjudgeme The fun continued with a BBQ back at our house and much laughter as we watched the kids play together all evening. Today Grace's friend George turned three. Grace and I were very excited about the pirate theme and rocked our outfits. I was very proud at how Grace built up the courage to get involved with the games. It can be hard when you are naturally a bit shy. Chad has done such an amazing job helping her ...

I did it all by myself!!;

Family time

Amazing day with Chad's brother and his kids, lunch, bowling, park then dinner. It was great, except I suck at bowling. Really suck. Which is frustrating as I'm awesome at XBox bowling. Clearly I'm made for the virtual world when it comes to sport. Grace was showed her usual shyness at the start if the day but turned into a social butterfly by days end. She realised there was fun to be had with her cousins and didn't want to miss out!! I think we are all going to be exhausted today but I have to head out and do some wedding prep stuff with the photographers so no rest yet....only 83 days to go!

Every girl needs a fort, and an amazing Dad to build it for her.

Came home last night to a fort. Heart filled with joy. Chad, you rock being a Dad!! Grace, you rock being a kid, no pants and all 😉. Note: Mum was not allowed in the fort.

Time out

Yesterday we came home from a morning out and Grace suggested we sit on the stairs for "a bit of a rest". When I said we should go up stairs, she said "no, we need a rest mummy". We sat there in silence for about 5 minutes, and then she said "Right, let's go play mummy". It's good to take a break now and then.

Banana cake and other adventures

When your mum doesn't bring your cake to the zoo, so she shoves candles in a banana and calls it a banana cake, and you bravely smile through it all... What a great day we had.

And then you were three

Three years. God I love you. I'm so blessed that you are here and my heart is so full with joy. We have had a wonderful day at the zoo, followed by cake at home. You are currently stomping round in the light up shoes we gave you and playing with your new toys. Your Dad and I are smiling at our beautiful, smart, funny girl and thinking of that morning three years ago when we first held you in our arms. Happy.

Happiness is when your swings synchronise.
