Tomorrow, my girl has her first day at school. I'm proud, scared, excited, sad. I'm overwhelmed. I never thought my heart could feel so much love and fear for another human being. I see this beautiful wee girl and realise that while I think I know her and what she needs, I need to work hard not to under estimate all she is capable of coping with. The desire to protect her can so easily and unintentionally become a force that smothers her confidence. And then annoyingly, my fear can manifest itself into being a fierce grumpy mum who doesn't want to play. I hope her day goes well. I hope I don't cry in front of her. I hope she sees me as a mum who always has her back. I hope she knows that I believe in her and how strong she is. And I hope she forgives all mistakes I make on this mothering journey. I love you Grace. Good luck tomorrow, you got this!
