The Artist

This weekend we finally tackled painting. And it was a big hit! Please message me for prices if you are interested in one of the master pieces. The pictures below show the budding prodigy at work. Not pictured is the fretful Mum and Dad standing by with cloths, ready to pounce in case the artist wanders off the allocated painting area and decides to go rogue on the walls.

"Borrowing"

Today Grace tried to subtly take the "blueberries" from the chemist. She was mightily pissed when I told her we had to leave it behind. So far in life, Grace has "borrowed" a duck from play group, a fish from the doctors, a dog toy and soft toy from nanny, a squeaky dog from granny and tried to borrow several toys from friends (we now pat her down before we leave anywhere).

Thanks Granny

My girl has the best Granny. I'm a bit biased, as this same lady is the best Mum to me. Mum has made a lot of my clothes, and I love that Grace also gets to wear outfits that Mum makes, like this divine dressing gown that Grace LOVES!! In fact she often refuses to remove it before bed!! In other news, you can see how long Grace's hair is getting!! So do I cut it?? Not super short but maybe shoulder length so its easer to manage. Hmmm, I'll have to think about it.

Forever thinking of you

So when I was a kid I used to watch a programme called Dawson's Creek. In the last series, one of the characters was dying so she recorded video for her infant daughter. I found the scene today and it resonated with me. Before, it was just a sad scene in teen show, but now its a mother wanting the world for her daughter. Being a mum is feeling this way every second of everyday. I love you Grace. "Jen: Hi, Amy, it’s mom. Well, by the time you see this, I won’t be here anymore, and I know how much that sucks, for both of us. So seeing as how I won’t be around to thoroughly annoy you, I thought I would give you a little list of the things that I wish for you. Well, there’s the obvious. An education. Family. Friends. And a life that is full of the unexpected. Be sure to make mistakes. Make a lot of them, because there’s no better way to learn and to grow, all right? And, um, I want you to spend a lot of time at the ocean, because the ocean forces you to dream, and I insist that ...

Use of technology to get through a long lunch.

Wonder Woman is back!!!

Wonder Woman is back. Grace is yet again rocking this look, even with the chambray shirt her Mum made her wear to stay warm. And this outfit has a cape!!! Funny to look back on her first Wonder Woman outfit and see how much she has grown!!

Waiting

I'm sitting here waiting for Chad and Grace to get home. I had an overnight work function, so it feels like a million years since I've seen my girl. Chad sent me a pic last night but not the same as cuddles. Chad and Grace are due home at 7pm. Counting down the minutes till then!

Girls night in

Today I worked from home. Grace was very happy to help me, decorating my arm with stickers. Tonight, with Chad off at cricket, Gracie and I did our routine of bath and then snuggle up in bed watching movie together. I love time together with my girl. Although I'm really hoping she doesn't wake up at 4am and come in our room like she has the last few nights. The cuddles are lovely but the lack of sleep isn't!!

A girl, her Dad and a very high ponytail!

I love these two :-)

Chickens and making friends

Grace goes to play group a couple of times a week and is slowly learning about sharing and making friends. I love getting pictures of her adventures and hearing her accomplishments for the day. Today she made chickens and made a friend at the kitchen area. I love the photo of her getting help on how to use the toy microwave - good listening Gracie!!!

Things you can do.

Make "'up-a-tea" for people in the tea set Aunty Josie got you. Sit at your yellow table and chair and eat all your meals there like a big girl (no more high chair!!) Take your pants off all by yourself (and then run around the lounge refusing to put them back on). Blow kisses Say "opsey daisy" and "look at me daddy!" and it's adorable. Talk to me on the phone and tell me about your day ("car...park...swing!!"). Sometimes I don't understand all the words but I can understand the key ones!! Run fast with your arms swinging (and yelling "run run" for extra speed!!) Put on your shoes all by yourself. Throw a ball further than your mother can. Sing songs with me and make up your own as you play.   My wonderful girl, delighting me more every day
