Busy, happy weekend

This weekend was awesome. We replanted our front garden and it looks awesome! Photos to follow! Grace was such a big help too, she had fun and kept herself busy while we worked. Only downside was that I have a splinter under my thumb nail and I can't get it out. Aaaarrrrggghh! Today, we went to a school fair. I was again impressed by my girl. She proudly carried her handbag, she bought a wee salt and pepper shaker shaped like cupcakes, handing the money over herself. Then it was off to the games area where she won a unicorn! We then decided to brave a ride that Grace had been admiring from our deck, which looks over the school. It looks innocent enough but this ride is evil. Grace loved it. Mum felt nauseous for about an hour afterwards.  #eventeacupsaretooextremeforme Also Grace called this the "cup of tea" ride 😁, so cute. Wonderful busy weekend.

My boy

Morning cuddles with Penzance. This old man has been with me for the best and worst periods of my life. He has been an expert at distracting me when I got stressed and cuddling me when I was sad. While we are currently waging a nightly battle where he tries to sit on Grace's  head while she sleeps, we still love him dearly and the house will be quite empty when he does pass on. Mind you, that cat has recovered from so much over the years that he is almost immortal!! Love you my boy.

Bon voyage Geeze and Papa

My Mum and Dad head off for a holiday adventure tomorrow and I miss them already! Mum came round today and Gracie was thrilled as usual and I know she is going to miss them so much while they are away. Have a lovely trip Geeze and Papa!

Happy Father's Day

To my wonderful Dad and Grace' s wonderful Dad. Love you both so much.

World's Suckiest Mum

Today I picked Grace up from daycare to discover she was not wearing her own trousers. Why? Because she had a wee accident (not a biggy) and I forgot to pack a change of clothes (here is where the sucky Mum part comes in). Oh did I mention she is still not toilet trained? Yeah. There is that. Also got taken aside (nicely) and told that I was probably staying too long for drop offs and Grace was messing with me (by being sad) so I stay longer. Oh and they gently suggested we cut down on the number of soft toys she takes to daycare (we are up to seven...) which I totally know has gotten out of hand but...okay no buts, I'm just a sucky Mum. Sigh. Not related at all but I've just bought Nigel Latta' s book "Politically Incorrect Parenting." Sigh.
