Quiet, blissful quiet

Poor Gracie was not very well today so I left work at lunchtime to pick her up from daycare. When I got there she had fallen asleep, so I sat by her wee cot bed till she woke. Most peaceful I've felt in a long time. Too much on at work has meant my brain is constantly churning. The contrast between being at our work conference, where I presented, to the quiet of sitting by Grace's side watching her sleep, was enormous!  Oh to have money to make choices like working part time! One day!!

Organising , it's in the genes

Bought a set of storage boxes to try get Grace' s toy collection into some semblance of order. Went into kitchen to get wine to help motivate myself, and came back to find the boxes had packed themselves!

Goodbye dear friend

Miss you my beloved Mini. But I'm sure I'll be driving a mini one day soon!!

Miss you already

Only four days left with my Mini. And yes this is how you get a child out of a two door car. #imissyoualready #Miniforever

The adventures of Dog and Panda Bear

Grace left two toys in my car as they didn't have name tags to be able to go into daycare. She asked if I could take them to work with me. I did...and they had an adventure.

"Angry Mum" a portrait by Grace

I guess I haven't been very good at separating work stress from home life. Sorry Grace.

It's my job!

Grace is taking great pride in dressing herself. It is wonderful to see her independence, albeit a wee bit frustrating at the time it takes. Which leads to her favourite phrase if you offer to help....."It's my job!". Today she proudly put on her shoes (supported by our new giant duck). I didn't have the heart to tell her that the shoes were on the wrong feet.....

Queen's Birthday Honours List

Someone wasn't named on the list and is not handling it well. To be fair, Lady Grace has a certain ring to it. Note: Photo was taken by Grace herself. She was trying to take a selfie (seriously) and couldn't work out the buttons. She laughed when I showed her the photo that she took.

New cars and giant ducks

Busy day trying to find a new car. Still torn between practical (Mazda 3) and awesome (Mini). No decisions yet but we did buy something awesome....a giant duck! Grace and I are stoked with our purchase.
