Party!

This year I have lost count of the number of Christmas parties that we have gone to. Today was a kids Christmas party at my work. Grace had such a wonderful time. She was a bit nervous at the start but before we arrived we talked about how to deal with nerves and if she doesn't want to talk she can just smile. She loved seeing my work. Mind you, I think she now thinks this is what happens everyday! My proudest moment was when she was brave enough to see Santa by herself! My girl is growing up.

Happiness is....holding hands with Jess

Last dance class for the year. Grace managed to get prime position holding her teacher's hand. Jess is such an amazing teacher, she is patient and kind and helps Grace to be confident. Teachers make such a huge difference to Grace. Her swimming teacher Charlotte has been amazing this year, helping Grace to be brave enough to put her head under water. I hope that next year, Grace has a teacher that is warm and caring. I know Grace will be stressed and I want her to have a good experience. I hope she can find her inner strength and be brave. I hope I can too!

My team!

A couple of weeks ago we had our work Christmas Party. It was circus themed and was so much fun.  I arrive dressed as a clown, dusting off an awesome clown outfit that Mum made me in around 2000! I did have to get changed about an hour in as it was such a hot day but I loved that this cool outfit has had so many outing over the last 18 years!! I usually don't like Christmas parties, but the way this one had been organised it felt so relaxed. They had food trucks where we got burgers and donuts, plus there was a Mr Whippy! We chilled in bean bags and chatted and laughed. It wasn't a late night for me but I really enjoyed the time I spend with my team.  Work wise, it has been a great year. I have felt so appreciated here and am always made to feel like my contribution is hugely appreciated. While I never tend to spend long in any one workplace, I do feel that working at Skills for 2019 will be perfect for me and the family, especially with Grace starting school. Ther...

December

It's December. It's almost Christmas. This year has flown by. I have just had a look at how many posts I have done this year compared to previous years and I am shocked at how low it is!!! So why has this year been so busy? This year I started a new job. Actually, a new career. It meant quite a hit in income but the pay off was meant to be less stress and more time with the family. The great news is that it has worked out as planned. I have had a few times where I have gotten overwhelmed but that has more be about me and how work and less about the company and any pressure they are putting on me. Outside of work, it feels the year has flown by. We have done lots as a family and every weekend seems so full. We are finishing the year EXHAUSTED but really excited about what 2019 holds. I really want to get back into the rhythm of blogging. This year I printed out my blog so far and it was wonderful to review how I was feeling over the years since I started i...
