Back at work but feeling fragile

While overall I am feeling better, I am incredibly tired and still feeling a bit of anxiety lingering around. Have a heap on at work and it is all feeling a bit much, but I know that is just the legacy of being sick and missing a week. I will get back into the rhythm of things soon I'm sure. Students arrive this week - how is ready (albeit a bit messy!) but will be fun having extra people in the house. Grace is excited too, she really loved having Charlotte here so it will be nice for her to have people closer to her age. Hoping their English is okay!

I think my Covid has passed!! Yay!

Feeling much better today - my cough is still lingering but everything else is great. Just a bit weak at times, but all things I can handle. The great news is that Grace and Chad are covid-free, which really surprises me. However, the odds are they will get it in the coming weeks given how cases are increasing so much. The only annoying thing is that my anxiety has gone through the roof - not sure if it's related to feeling sick but it makes things hard. Still, I am just focusing one day at a time and that really helps. The week out has been a pain with regards to work - have a backlog of things I need to get through. Plus we had to miss out on a farewell dinner for Chantelle before she heads off to the Navy. Oh well, we can catch up with her when she finishes basic training. Chad's mum is doing well and looks like her cancer was all removed which is a relief. And my Mum and Dad are getting better from their brush with covid too.. Our new student arrives on Friday (plus we will...

So this happened

Was feeling pretty bad last night, shakes, hot sweats. Better today, but so tired and achy. I think I'm most stressed about who I might have passed it on to. Had brunch yesterday with a colleague. Her husband has heart disease so I pray I didn't give it to her.

"This too will pass"

The benefit of getting older is that you know that things pass. This helps when you are, like me, a suffer from anxiety. While I have been feeling increased anxiety for some time, I know that the reality is this is a small blip in the journey of life and that not every day is bad. Right now things may feel awful but that does not mean they will feel that way tomorrow. Keeping perspective is key. Focusing on what I can control and letting go of the "what if's" that flood my mind, helps me to stay present. I am strong and resilient. I can get through this.
