Tonight I came home and noticed that my little cat had a bald patch on her right back thigh. Small cat evades me for about 10 min until I can corner her for a closer look.
Unfortunately she has been bitten and had three quite large holes on her thigh. Even more unfortunately it is infected (really gross). So that means we need to go to the vet tomorrow to get that all cleaned up.
Now here is the thing I can't figure out. Wounds get infected about three days after they occur - so why didn't I notice it earlier so I could have cleaned it before it got infected? How did I miss a large bald patch and three big holes?????? I am a bad pet owner!!
Secondly, who caused the injury?
On the weekend (the only time she is allowed outside) she could have been hurt by the two cats in the neighbourhood who cause trouble: Buster or Rocky, but then wouldn't the wound have shown earlier?
Or (and this is the part that would really suck) did Penne cause the wound? And if so, is that yet another sign that Penne is going a bit loopy?
Clearly I am over thinking this.
