Whenever I see a Mini on the road, I feel a sense of fellowship with the driver. It feels like we are part of a club and I always want to acknowledge that bond we have - kinda like a secret handshake. The thing is, we clearly are in cars and usually driving past each other or stopped at the lights, so the acknowledgement needs to be clear and quick.
Today I was stopped at the lights, and on the other side of the road was another Mini - in fact it was the same colours as mine. I decided that it was a perfect time to try out a "secret handshake", and so I did a small salute and smile.
Here is what I learnt, the key thing about a "secret handshake" is that both parties need to know that a "secret handshake" is taking place and what the "secret handshake" is.
Clearly this did not happen here and by the look the woman gave me as the lights changed, she is not going to be a big supporter of my"secret handshake" movement.
