I'm starting to see some trends in the way men write their profiles on the Internet dating site I have joined, and to be honest, there is a disturbing trend of them adding pictures holding large fish.
I'm really interested in the psychology on this.
As a woman I am pretty much in different to fishing. Its a hobby, and it is great to have hobbies, but it is not something that I get really excited about.
So leading with a fish photo as your key marketing angle is very strange to me. And Internet dating is all about marketing.
I suspect that many of the men on these sites are not clear on their target audience. I would rather see your smiling face than a fish - just a handy hint.
Oh and don't get me started on the men who have pictures of them holding cats......
