The great thing about Chad being at home with Grace is the wonderful relationship she has with him. They are so close and she lights up when she sees him. He is her go-to person when she is sad or scared.
The hardest thing is that she doesn't see me in the same way. I know she loves me but I gotta admit my heart aches when she is sad and she cries until Chad holds her. Or she pulls from my lap to try get Chad to pick her up. I know it's only natural given how much time they spend together. I'm very important to her but I'm not there for a large chunk of her day.
I try my best to get home on time to see her before bed. To have special Mamma/daughter time on weekends and to be there to comfort her at night if she wakes.
I know I could do more. Life gets so busy and I struggle to get the balance right.
This parenting business is hard.
