Yesterday as we arrived at day care, Grace fell over. I carried my crying girl inside and we investigated the damage. Rolling up her trousers I could tell that the small scrape was bleeding a bit and knew what her reaction would be. Not to let me down, a loud wail was produced and a panicked cry of "look at all the bloods!!"
A plaster was the solution, although my teary girl did not want me to leave her. She also wanted me to call her Dad so he could come and get her (Ummm,, Mum is right here Grace!!). The teacher and I convinced Grace to come have a sit on the pillows to "recover" and Grace literally dragged her leg over to pillows, weeping about the pain as she went.
I was finally able to leave and (being the good Mum that I am ) called a couple of hours later to hear that she was bright and cheery and amputation was no longer required.
Fast forward to Dad picking her up. Upon eye balling him, the limp returned along with a blow by blow account of how the injury happened, including the "bloods everywhere!!".
Oh boy, I think we may have a high maintenance young lady on our hands!
In an unrelated note, my two new favourite words from Grace are Snurfs and snausages - freaking adorable!!
